I’m Amanda Santa Rosa Duarte, a Brazilian-born and London-based wedding family photographer who moved to London in the middle of the pandemic in 2020. The year the world stopped, significant changes happened in my life. It was the year I gave up a postgraduate degree in marketing, married the love of my life, and then we decided to move to London – because he had a job proposition here.
Photography was always part of my life and memory, but it wasn’t my first choice.
After graduating, I worked for a few years in the corporate market (advertising agency) until I realised that photography was what I most wanted as a career.
So then I decided to study photography; years passed by, and in 2023, here I am, a wedding and family photographer with 09 years of experience.
The decision to become a photographer was motivated by a significant episode in my life: when I lost my father. This was and is an essential aspect of mine. Through the most incredible pain of my life, I also knew my strength. Even in the unlikely, he transformed my life and made me realise what is relevant and truly matters.
I believe in the power of love and how many memories a photo can bring, and I do my best to deliver more than amazing images. A beautiful image goes far beyond technical elements such as light and equipment. You must give yourself entirely to the moment and everything it represents to get an extraordinary photograph.
My work process is discreet and helpful to ensure that it is a happy day and you feel comfortable, confident and enjoy it.
Travelling, cinema, music and books are significant commitments of my life. I could easily call the cinema my second home. I have a fantastic and much-loved family who lives in Brazil. In London, me and my lovely and incredible husband, and now our first baby, call it home.
